have a great memorial day

I am fascinated with time lapse photography...and more and more photographers are getting creative with how they present their time lapse sequences.  I love this example from Rob Whitworth out of the UK who shot this series in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.

I hope your memorial day travels are less frenetic than the traffic he captured in HCMC.  I think I'd avoid that intersection at the 1:00 minute mark.

Have a great holiday weekend!

pray for Oklahoma

Please say a prayer for those affected by the deadly tornado in Moore Oklahoma.

I would like to give a shout out to the local broadcasters in Oklahoma City who were on the air warning area residents of the approaching danger.

I am on the east coast, but was able to watch a live stream of the NBC station's coverage.  I have no doubt that many lives were saved because these men and women...these broadcasters who are passionate about being there for their local communities, provided life-saving details about this storm.

CNN, FOX News, the morning network shows...they are all on-location now, but yesterday, in those few vital minutes before the tornado struck, it was the local broadcasters that warned viewers and listeners to take shelter...and in doing so, saved countless lives.

friday fav

I'd like to introduce a new feature for my blog today..."the friday fav."  This will be my way of showcasing a weekly spot, commercial, short film etc...a production I have seen that I admire and would like to share with you.

This particular spot is a PSA from a couple of years ago.  You may have seen it but it's definitely worth another look.  I have no problem saying this is the most effective, well done spot I have ever seen...period.  Every time I watch this, I get chills.  This PSA has an amazing concept, great use of music, NO voiceover (none needed), spot-on editing and slo-mo ...all I can say is WOW!

please let me know what you think, of this concept in general or of the individual videos I will post.  Feel free to like, share or leave a comment.

Thanks and have a great weekend!
